24-hour-a-day emergency response and information service is designed to
help authorities at the scene of an accident involving a dangerous
product. |

Although CANUTEC was set up to provide advice in case of emergencies,
its staff is also prepared to provide information on the packaging,
classification and marking of dangerous goods, as well as their safe
handling and transportation. |

Where
it cannot provide the specific information requested, it would refer the
caller to the appropriate agency or endeavour to obtain such information
from the agency. |

service by the Canadian Chemical Producers' Association on behalf of
member companies who may also operate the Regional Response Centers (RRC's). |

emergency and hands on response when requested by the member company
whose product is involved in the incident. |

cannot be contacted, or cannot respond quickly enough, on-scene
assistance will be provided from the Regional Response Center. |
