Shell's Sarnia Manufacturing Centre (SMC), also referred to as Shell's Corunna Refinery, is located about 10 kilometers south of Sarnia between the communities of Froomfield and Corunna. Built in 1952, the refinery became part of Shell Canada's operations in 1963 when Shell purchased Canadian Oil. Since then, there has been numerous expansions and upgrades, modernized equipment and new technology has been added to meet current product regulations and environmental legislation.

Emergency preparedness and response and safety are important parts of operations at each Shell facility. Our goal is no harm to people, to protect the environment and to prevent pollution.
