Basell Polyolefins began operations in 1978 as Shell Canada Products, manufacturing Isopropyl Alcohol (IPA) and Polypropylene (PP) resin.� IPA is used as a solvent and cleaner in many industries.� You may recognize it as a main ingredient in your car�s windshield washer fluid.� PP resins are used in numerous consumer household products from clothing and carpeting to food safe storage containers.
Basell�s Sarnia site is a member of a world scale operation serving over 4000 customers in 120 countries.� Shell Chemicals Canada controls and markets the IPA plant that is operated by Sarnia Basell employees.�
